Pigreco table by Martex
Architect Mario Mazzer, having worked with Martex - the Italian office furniture manufacturer - for over 25 years, has signed the Pigreco collection. A series of sophisticated and highly ergonomic tables and desks designed for high-end offices and co-working spaces. The Martex team specifically focused on developing tables with shaped and trapezoidal worktops. This extension arose out of the company observing new ways of working together and wanting to transform the office space into a dynamic, inclusive environment that could facilitate exchange. With an array of different shapes and colours - Grigio Efeso, Beige Arizona, Grigio Bromo, Verde Comodoro and Nero Ingo - Martex is proud to showcase the Pigreco collection and the careful choice of FENIX as a material.
What kinds of workspaces are Pigreco tables designed for?
We created the Pigreco range of tables to cater to the latest evolutions in the contemporary office, where relationships are proving to be just as important as operations. More than merely functional surfaces, these are actually powerful social platforms which can accommodate a variety of uses, from focused individual work sessions to quick meetings and collaborative group work. Thanks to the variety of shapes available - from the classic rectangular tabletop to shapes and trapezoidal options - they are the perfect fit for fluid, dynamic spaces geared towards exchange.
Are they better suited to creative co-working or more formal conference rooms?
The Pigreco collection is designed to go beyond the dichotomy of creativity vs. formality. The trapezoidal worktops, for example, improve visual ergonomics and promote a more natural position oriented towards the centre, making them ideal for both informal brainstorming sessions and more structured meetings. In this sense, Pigreco is an incredibly versatile system: it fits in perfectly in both innovative co-working spaces and in meeting rooms that require a balance between presence and efficiency.
What makes this collection unique?
Pigreco is so much more than just a table: it’s a piece of social architecture. It is made unique by its ability to blend elegant design, lightweight technical solutions and proportions carefully designed to facilitate dialogue, inclusion and creativity. Every last aspect of the shape is conducive to effective relating: the soft geometric forms are an invitation to engagement, the sloping profiles stimulate collaboration, and the modular configurations make for maximum flexibility. Pigreco is a system designed to convey a vision: to transform the workplace into a vibrant, living environment where ideas can thrive.
What led you to choose FENIX?
We opted to use FENIX as we wanted to offer surfaces capable of combining elegance, durability and sensory comfort. FENIX is a soft-touch material that boasts a sophisticated aesthetic and advanced anti-fingerprint technology, making the tables perfect for even the heaviest usage scenarios. The Pigreco collection comes in an array of colours chosen for their ability to fit seamlessly into all manner of different settings: neutral tones for elegant atmospheres, as well as warmer, deeper shades for creative spaces with a bold identity.
What appealed to you the most about the material?
We were especially impressed by FENIX’s ability to combine beauty with excellent performance. It’s a material that invites contact and engagement, attractive to look at and pleasant to the touch, but at the same time incredibly resistant to scratches, wear and tear, and daily use. Its ease of maintenance and ability to remain perfectly elegant over time make it the ideal choice for a line of furniture designed to have presence, but without compromising on function or durability.
